Adventurer
Lokein has been an adventurer most his life and will likely be one for a long time to come. The life of adventure is one he's come to love having traveled all across the star and even places beyond one of his greatest joys has become venturing to know lands and taking in the sights all the while taking up his blade to protect others be they his loved ones or those simply unable to defend themselves. His status with the guild is that of a high ranking veteran often sought out for difficult missions from those both within and outside the guilds, however crafting is something he simply struggles to grasp and always needs a hand with himself. His primary roles are that of a tank mostly favoring the ways of the Gunbreaker but also dabbles a great deal in the ways of the Viper and Red Mage.
Humble Beginnings
Lokein, like many others, had a rough start in life growing up in the outskirts of Ul'Dah as a refugee. He and a few others from his fishing village in the Ruby Sea fled to Thanalan in secret during the first invasion of Doma during which time he was separated from his parents and then grew up among the small caravan of refugees traveling around the city outskirts picking up odd jobs to make ends meet and squeeze out a living. As he grew up the typical politics of merchants in Ul'Dah saw his caravan shaken down and ran off but by now he was old enough to take care of himself and instead of fleeing rose to defense of his friends fending off the mercenaries that would have seen them killed. Though the caravan fled the area Lokein was done running and so strode forth into Ul'Dah and picked up the sword becoming a known gladiator in the blood sands where he made a note to thoroughly crush fighters representing the merchants that had tried to harm his friends. It was in these fights he was spotted and recruited by the adventurer's guild and later other individuals with a mutual mind to protect others.
Adventure!: Lokein loves adventure any chance to visit new places, find new things, and see wonderous views is a chance he is willing to take.
Roof Time: One of his favorite hobbies is "roof time" it is the practice of climbing atop a roof, or similar high place, and enjoying the view in a moment of calm. Best practiced during sun up or sun down if able.
Curious: Be it to aid in adventures, try out a new hobby, or help those in need Lokein is a curious man. The offer to try something new is of great interest so long as it can even remotely be linked back to his love of adventure.
Loyal: A life time of struggle and loss of those close to him has left Lokein very dedicated to the protection of those close to him. Any slight to those he loves will be challanged and any danger to them he will readily face even should it put himself in harms way. This is one of many reasons he favors the role of a tank as he prefers it be himself taking the blows then those he cares for.
Aether Troubles: The attack on his village that resulted in his becoming a refugee also saw Lokein victim to a rare and experimental poison. It has left his body scared in a way that harms the natural flow of his aether. Though his aether reserves are vast the flow is slow near stagnant if not focused on, resulting in him having limited magical abilities outside of the skills of a Red Mage which he uses as a means to force his aether into a balanced flow.
Echo: An adventurer blessed with the echo has greatly helped Lokein become the hero he is. Immune to primal influence he is often a part of parties gathered to contend with summoned primals. Not only the breif and sudden flashes of peoples past the echo provides has at times helped him come to the aid of those he cares about.
